We are concentrating on starting a website related to some Freelancing stuff and was just curious about where can we find a lot of freelancers. of could we can target boards and other things... but still and best or particular place anyone would recommend.
I think elance.com and Odesk.com will be good starting places, and you can also find freelancers here on DP too but you may have to test many to find the good ones. There are also many other marketing forums where members offer their services and you can contact them too.
classified ads sites could be one place. also you can target other freelance websites using adwords or so.
I suggest to hire a company instead of a freelancer. Outsourcing is better than freelance work because leased staff are permanent workers of a company and are easy to reach in case you need them. Freelancers do not have employers so they do as they please and sometimes cannot be contacted for various reasons. For the most part, freelance work entails irregular working hours. Although a little pressure motivates the freelancer to keep up, the quality of work expected is compromised. Since freelancers are self-employed, they are naturally in the pursuit of more projects to sustain them. As this is a good motivation, it also limits the freelancer to devote all his mind and time to a project.
I think carol that he wants to find freelancers because he is making a site about freelancers. He doesnt need any of them for himself
Check out Odesk as well. It's a bit crowded by some overseas folks that drastically overestimate what they can do, but there are some outsourcers there as well. At the end of the day though, if you create enough content on your own they will show up eventually
