Marketing to children has been running for years. Its no secret that whenever kids come home from school they are subjected to various adverts on action man figures, barbie dolls and then the child runs crying to his parent asking if he or she can be part of the craze.

Christmas is the best period to market the product - its a spending season, parent's incomes are up and therefore, they are willing to spend thousands on their beloved child :)

    Thanks

To hook kids in you need to create a fad! If kids think they're cool with whatever product you are trying to market, it'll create a wave effect to other kids who also want to look cool (from my experience ;))

TV ads greatly influence them, atleast it is applicable for my kids! :) You may also try out local cable.

Oh yes, but on the right channel as well. That is a good medium to use for advertisement, you have to plan out the characters, vocal actors, colors, text, images and everything, its quite complex and not as easy as it seems.

    Good day,

MC Donalds are masters at this look at the Happy Meal anything happy out that? But you have children hooked and begging to go there yet we all know it is garbage and not good for them.

I personally care what is marketed to the children.

Yes TV has become the 3rd parent.

Children are easy to market to on television, certainly. My 4 year old constantly tells me about things we "need" that she just saw on television. Often she has no idea what the product actually does.

Kids that young are easy targets and believe pretty much everything they see. Even ads not aimed at them work well.

Good thing I know how to tell her "no!"

One of the reasons companies like Mickey Ds are so successful is because of how they market to kids. The playground, the toys. Kids grow up to become lifetime customers because of good childhood memories attached to the company. It isn´t unethical in my book. Unless of course you are a cigarette company targeting high schools.

You don't wanna get kids bored though :)

Kids will believe anything that they see on TV. Very similar to most US voters these days :)

TV shows like Barney and Tinky Winky are the same way. You put kids in front of the tube and you have time for yourself.

    Good day,

Yes they seem to capitvate the children.

I remember Sesame Street, Mr. Dress Up and the Friendly Giant they where a bit different back then now adays it is more animation and cartoons.

MC D's are master marketers I don't agree with there product but they spend alot of money hooking the kids and you can see the results of when they grow up in our sick society.
