So Listen to this I am Promoting a High Quality Forum called http://www.agameforum.com/ I Went Crazy One Day Trying to Promote It went All Out. I got 20 People Visiting No one signed up i got mad and went into commander Mode I got 27 People No one signed up. Again Promoted 14 Visited No one Signed up.... What am i doing Wrong If 1/10 People signed up i would have 6 new People but no one signed up what is wrong we have a Good Forum im starting to get pissed!!!
Your not doing anything wrong. The system you are using may be high quality, but the fact that your forums have practically no members and not many people to talk too and discuss things with turns people away. Think about it as if it wasn't your forum. If you went and saw every section with 1-2 threads you would probably leave right ? the trick is, just keep at it but don't stress over numbers. You might get 100 members in a day or 0, maybe 100 one day and 0 the next two. Also, try advertising your website using methods that will stay. I see people doing things like posting " check out suchandsuch dot c0m" on youtube vids. 1, people just look at those and laugh and 2, they are gone once that comment is off the page. I'm not saying you were doing that just making a point. If you want to slowly build up your forums than I suggest writing ezine articles related to your forum subject (games) as well as hubs on hubpages and lenses on squidoo. gamers read those threads, gamers click the url's you add at the bottom promoting your site, and gamers are who you want to join. best of luck.
oh and I remember a guy posting in the adsense section of DP forums and he showed us proof he was getting 100k-200k visitors per day with 20k returning visitors. all he did was make a competition like 1st place: $100 usd 2nd place: $50 usd 3rd place: $25 usd 4th place: $5 usd and the competition was for the best youtube videos promoting his website. Having a competition like this, and saying that it last 2 or 3 months is going to lead to thousands and thousands of views daily, and after a month of it more and more people will want to join the competition. After all for just making an advertising video $100 or $50 is GREAT hell even $25. and for you .. well $280 spent with 100k daily visitors or whatever you get is worth it if you use adsense or affiliate programs on the forums. just a thought
