Hi, Ok so I've written the articles section, we now have a real article which has been published to the web. We have an RSS news feed plugged into our website (which drives the articles section). I've added it to google sitemap.xml and yahoo site feed. So now what? How do I tell the world about the news feed, how do I market and publish an RSS feed? Any ideas or guidance is much appreciated. Regards, 1DMF.
hmm, didn't know there were facilities like this, thanks. However a couple of questions. 1. Who do I ping, or should I just tick all of them? 2. Isn't this site DEAD, look at the last blog date April 30, 2006 by Matt (not far off 2 years old!) not to mention the stats page doesn't work. Are there any other sites like this that are more current and up-to-date? thanks 1DMF. 3
There are lthousands of sites that you can ping, but it slows your posting down. The ones iv found to be ok are pingomatic like the other guy said and technorati...But there are literally thousands of them. Theres a list on dp somewhere i think, if not, try typing "places to ping" into google and somebody somewhere will have made a list.
Thanks for the reply. I have been doing similar searches and have started to find some info , such as this blog http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/ Code (markup): though to get the list you have to pay for it. or this site http://blogulate.com/content/compiled-list-of-rss-directories/ Code (markup): so do I just merrily submit and forget? Or do I need to ping/update these directories when ever a new article is added to the rss feed?
Ping them every time providing its not like every few minutes. They arent really directories, more like search engines that track whats going on in your feeds and take note of any changes that have happened since the last time you pinged. If you are still struggling to find any pm me and i'l send you a list i have.
