Marketing / Online Business BlogTalkRadio Show Launches Tomorrow!!!

I'm launching my BlogTalkRadio show, Chick Tech Talk, finally tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6pm Eastern time for anyone interested in listening live. The show in general will cover marketing, PR, and online business issues, and is tied to one of my newer blogs; www.ChickTech.net.

The first show topic is Promoting Niche Content Sites. I won't be rehashing a lot of what you'll hear in places like DP (like directory submissions, forum posting, article marketing, etc.). Instead I'll be talking to guest Stacey Lloyd, founder of the niche content network www.PreschoolRock.com, about deeper promotion options - most importantly networking with bigger sites and companies and building an image that lends itself to natural word of mouth marketing.

The second show (next Wednesday at the same time) will be focused on The Future of Web Directories, and the guest for that show is Jeff of Aviva Directory (onlinedude here on DP).

The third show (if all goes well with pre-recording this interview) will be on Creative Self-Promotion on the Web, and I'll be talking to artist and musician Ajax Garcia (frontman of The Napoleon Blownaparts if you're familiar with the punk music scene, and the artist responsible for the popular KISS icons if you're familiar with his artwork). Ajax is a master at building a cult following for different artistic mediums both online and off, and I'll be combining his background with my own in music publicity to share creative options in Web promotion most online business owners never consider. I'm expecting this one to be a fun show.

So be sure to tune in to the first show tomorrow, and get the call-in information from the link above (you can call in via the phone or do it for free online using a microphone / headset with your computer). I may have the show's official blog at http://talk.chicktech.net done tomorrow before the first show, but I'm not counting on it... more likely that it will be finished when I post that show's archive.

Thanks. I've been trying to get it launched for a few weeks now, but it was one thing after another: getting sick, having technical troubles, having a scheduling issue with a guest, etc. Just glad it's all falling into place finally.

Yep, the archives go up I believe a few hours on the blogtalkradio page after the show airs. Once it's up and available, I'll also post them on the official show blog, possibly with transcripts although not guaranteeing that at the moment.

Glad you like that show. I just lined up a guest for it actually, and once we have a date set up and confirmed, I'll post it to the schedule.

 

Sounds cool. I didn't know there was a future for directories, like all the ones we see at DP.

Yep... there's a replay. ... and that's what we'll be talking about: whether or not there's a future for Web directories, and if so, what is it?

 

today, Today, TODAY! It's finally launching at 6pm eastern time today, so be sure to tune in if you're around, or catch the archived show later. I have to admit, I'm a little bit nervous and just crossing my fingers that I don't run into technical problems like a friend recently did when launching a show with them. Any tips on what to expect in that sense from anyone running a show currently with BlogTalkRadio?

lol There you go. And yep... yours is the online PR basics show I believe, and we'll schedule it once I figure out the pre-recorded interviews for sure (I'll probably test that with Garcia since I'm interviewing him for a book proposal too, and could use the extra time). It'll probably be the 5th or 6th show with the way guests have been lining up reasonably well so far.

 

Heh... Radio discussions for Marketing was something I had set in my "closet" as a to do list for quite some time now..

I'm excited that it's getting out there now.. I will definitely listen! Are you going to list the "previous" sessions in case I miss it so I can listen to it at a later time?

That's because it just ended... ended it like 4 minutes early. It was awful. lol You got a plug towards the end actually though b/c of what you say all the time about writing for readers often naturally leading to well-optimized content for SEO purposes. .... so where were all of the people here and who PM'd me saying they'd listen and maybe call in... no call-ins. lol It's all good... just glad it's over... until next week. Hopefully more relaxed about it.

The archive I believe takes a few hours for them to process before it's available, but it will be up there.

EDIT: I was just told that the archived version's already up... quicker than expected.

 

Awesome job. I listed to the first 10 minutes or so at work before I headed off to the driving range. Not bad!
