Marketing on wikipedia? - How do people do it?

    It is really tricky, even for a product I sell in a very new and unique niche, I have to check every few weeks to make sure my links haven't been removed. Unless you can find super rare things where the mods never check, Wikipedia is hard to use effectively.

    Unless your website or product directly relates to the article on Wikipedia, what your doing is essential spamming the system. Wiki being a Web 2.0 innovation gives complete control of the content to readers which will weave out spam quickly and effectively. So if you want to use Wiki for marketing make sure that your tagging appropriate articles and that by having your link included your actually adding to the knowledge on Wiki.
