unknownpray, you are pretty much seeing the norm. Very few get any to a few visitors here and there. Don't expect anything more. In addition to so many lying, greatly exagerrating about getting traffic, Twitter is hugely hyped up, and overrated.

Followers are the main key! More followers - More traffic. So you need to think of getting more followers before you start twitting your website for traffic.
There are many services many that are free that will allow you to send out scheduled tweets. With scheduled tweets you can build up a following real quick say 2000 followers in several weeks and often find someone with a large following that will trade a retweet with you.
