    /me HATES newsgroup spam. It is the reason I don't read them anymore. Having to wade through tons of shady links and "special offers" is not fun for anyone. That being said, if your product or service is actually related to the group's theme, and people are asking for information, then it would ba a perfect match.

    Anyone know of a way to filter out spam from newsreaders?

    i used to market to newsgroups when i had an adult site a few years ago. it generates traffic if you give stuff away freee with your posting. for the time invested though, its not really worth it at all - you get more hate mail than anything else.

    People can market with out spamming. I have used them to market before but I was also an active particpant.
