Has anyone tried to market their online store, or other activities they have on the internet outside of the internet, such as TV commercials, ads in newspapers--O or similar?

I did some classified ads in local newspapers for one project I did. Got a few leads. Afterward, I think the money would have been better spent in Solo ads. It depends on the nature of your project though

Have you tried to include QRCodes and engage with your customers? One way is to print QRCodes on your receipts, or firdge magnets etc.. when they scan they can be directed to your mobile friendly site. Control coupons , or offers that you can display which your customers can use . This way you are building repeat customers . Dont forget customer retention is cheaper than new customer acquisition .

If you are looking to leverage QRCodes , check us out.

You might want to put up flyers in laundromats, you'd be surprised how good that works.

I sold a few ecommerce sites from an ad placed in the local post office. It only cost £6 for a month! I had the idea while waiting in the queue to post a birthday present, and saw what I figured were ebay sellers posting out their parcels. The ad's board was visible to 4-5 people waiting in the queue.

I guess if you can find somewhere that you can target likely customers, especially if they are queuing, then you are onto a winner :)
