I recently launched (last month) my directory, http://www.imagehostingdirectory.com, but so far the results have been pretty poor. Ive done directory submission, press releases, forum posting (paid and free postings), free phpld template, payperpost, text link ads, and a few other little things. Any other ideas? Will probably write up a little article soon and release that. Thanks.
Its been live for about a month now. I received about 2200 uniques in this first month, but the conversion rate (for submitting links) is very low. Some of my advertisements are also VERY targeted. I had it submitted to 200 directories as well. Still not indexed by google (and Im having sites indexed within 24 hours). I guess Ill sit back and be patient and give it time.
NO, I think you need more content. I think there is way too much advertising and the directory doesn´t really serve any other purpose.
I offered free without recip. as a promotion and actually didn't have anyone submit. Maybe Ill consider trying it again. Thanks.
I have. I announced launch, when it broke into alexa top 100,000 for the week, and when I was donating all revenue to charity.

I have started offering free reviews of image hosting sites at http://freeimagehosting.blogspot.com in an effort to help promote http://www.imagehostingdirectory.com as well. We'll see how it goes, but so far the response on http://freeimagehosting.blogspot is pretty good (I cant believe the domain wasn't taken. Im also going to write an article on how to promote an image hosting site and get that distributed as well.
