    Hi,

I have this new website, that i am now marketing, so things I have done so far

    1. launched an adwords campaign - currently from this i get a 1% click through
however the problem is that the number of impressions I am getting is abit low, I have a decent daily budget and am paying I think a good amount max per click. $.50c

    2. Hired this guy which incidentally I found on here to do some link building for me.

My question is this, what else do i need to do, I am currently getting 50-100 clicks a day from the adwords, should i just bump this up, i.e. increase the amounts.

Is there any thing else i should be doing, something better perhaps

    3. I tried the forum posting thing that wasnt too successful, it was ok as long as i was posting, but then posting in forums takes time, and time i dont have

    4. I cant really write an article, as my site is a news site (niche) .. what could I possibly write about.

    Any ideas?

It's a news site.... Oh man... there's a lot of stuff about writing news that's never available anywhere.
How about news about how to write news? Articles about basic writingstuff like the headings, the text, the subheaders, bylines and so on.

You might try posting a "lens" on squidoo.com. You could do one for "great news resources" or maybe you could do a lens on whatever topic you cover. It's just another way that you can be found and can direct folks back to your site.

I built one for the same purpose. You might check it out here: http://www.squidoo.com/bizintelligence/ to see what I'm up to. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Good luck!

By the way, what is the name of your site?

Given I would not stake my little finger on my writing ability, me thinks will do what you suggested and get someone to write me an article and then submit it somewhere.

thanx for the idea I created it, still not sure what i am doing though, but its there now .. how will anyone knows it exists ..

http://www.squidoo.com/Financialnews/ .. from there its easy enough to see which one is mine ..

the reason i did not include the url here, is that some people refused to work with me, because when you searched my domain name, in goog, this forum posting i made came up first "i.e. please review my website etc etc .."

So they said they will wait until that entry drops off .. before I can display their stuff on the website.

You could also write a press release, advertise on related sites, and hire a copywriter.

Well first off your site is new so this would be a great time to write a really nice press release for your web site. Explain what its about, and everything like that.

Also write articles. Even if you can write just think of something to write about and just point a link to your site.

There is also other PPC places you can go to like Yahoo. Or you can use some cheap PPC places like Goclick, 7search, Miva, Search123 etc. I am not sure how good the traffic from those will be but you never know.

    Hope this has helped.

    Best regards,
    Chris

What kind of link building? There are lots of ways, and "link building" could cover all sorts of online promotion, including forum posting and article syndication. Is this guy mainly doing directory submission, link requests by email, social network promotion, or another route entirely?

It takes about a month before the majority of directory links are added or rejected, and a proportion of directory links will trickle back even after several months. So you may get a handful more links from that, although probably not anything significant. If he can't get you more than 50 directory links, either his directory list is inadequate, his submitting skills are very poor, or your website isn't acceptable to most directory owners.
