I have almost completed my website and i am now looking at marketing it, i have done/started all of the digg/squidoo and a tiny bit of link building. I have a budget on marketing and would like a list of importance on things i should purchase; from the buy, sell & trade section and other internet sites/services. Thanks
best way to spend your budget is buying text links from related niche ... tho abit blackhat ..but really effective
On the money side, I have found it useful to get other people to do work for you, either from Elance or can use Odesk.com. Things like article writing can be outsourced cheaply and can gereate revenue and trafiic for months or even years. This 'seed money' can then be put back into your business.
so how do i get backlinks for willsmithforpresident.blogspot.com I've dug it a lot, but it seems i'm only getting traffic from people i tell about it.
Commenting on blogs is a great way to get backlinks and traffic. The Digg effect is not a useful SEO tactic I think.
Commenting on blogs, posting in forums, posting video to youtube and other video sharing sites, article marketing, and social bookmarking are all good ways of building back links to your site.
Send out a press release. Marketing should have started before the site was done. Figure out how you are going to be link building on a regular basis. Advertise on Craigslist. Exasperate all your free methods before you start paying then eventually do both in sync. @joshhatcher you missed two link opportunities for Will Smith For President here on DP, one in your signature and in your post.
Press release is an excellent way to get the word out. Join social networking websites and get as many friends as you can. Talk about your website there.
I recommend you put your effort on link building.Find blogs in your niche, visit them and post helpful comments. There is an excellent software called CommentKahuna (free) that I use to find relevant blogs to mine.
Thanks for mentioning that software (CK). I just used it, and it really makes life easier for serious posters. Cheers!
Social bookmarking is overrated, but you may as well give it a go. Commenting on blogs in a similar niche works well. Add your site to any signature links you have. Submit to a few dozen directories if you want a PR boost. Try some link exchanges with sites of the same topic. Finally, like some have mentioned, YouTube is an excellent tool - make an awesome vid, and cover it will links!
I think you can try an affilliate network, there is few in the market , i hear the revenuegateway.com is one of the best in regards of quality traffic and on time payments.
