I run a Nintendo based news site which launched in December, which currently receives around 300 unique visits a day, is PageRank 4, and around 950,000 AlexaRank. I would like to start making some money from the site, to be able to fund competition prizes and pay for hosting costs. I currently use Google Adsense, but it does not seem to generate much revenue, so I was hoping that somebody would be able to point me in a direction which would offer more revenue. I would also like to be able to draw more users to my site, and increase activity on my forums. Any ideas or suggestions on how to do this on a very limited budget ?
OK, but how do I get buyers to buy advertising on my site ? I signed up to Text Link Ads a long time ago but have had zero interest...
Where's your website? Build a mailing list and maybe look into an affiliate deal with a local games store where they can handle the stock and shipping while you refer cusomers. Amazon have an affiliate program which might be worth looking into. Colm
I'm a video game freak myself. Perhaps you could post a link to your site so we can see what's up with it? And I was thinking too that perhaps you could find an affiliate program to promote video games, or stuff related to video games, or anything that gamers would use.
I have a Wii website and from experience gaming sites in general don't make too much... i only make low $xxx from all my gaming sites a month. For ads i use chitika, adbrite, sell banners/text links, etc.
I can't post a proper link because I'm new here, but the site is called WiiDS and has a .co.uk extension, if you catch my drift I have set up an affiliate scheme with CD WOW, but I haven't really promoted it all that well, as I don't really want banners and things plastered all over the site. I have also though about setting up one of those amazon affiliate shops, but I'm not sure on whether I would get good enough return.
