I was wondering if anyone had some tips to help me out on marketing my Real Estate website. I am going to soon do some Adwords for a few low paying real estate keywords to try to increase some traffic but also looking of some other ways. I am also posting some on a real estate message board but it isnt very active at all. I have not received but 2-3 listings and have a few agents and For sale by owner people signed up as members but no listings. Any suggestions?
If its simply a content site, I am not sure adwords would be the ideal way to draw traffic. You may look to improve organic traffic.
Sorry the link was in my sig but it is www.thehomedirectory.net. It is a way for people to list houses and so on etc etc
I don't think you are ready for Adwords yet unless you have money to burn... I would lose the banner ad or at least change it to a relevant ad, the ad showing when I viewed it was Go To My PC, I thought I was in the wrong place. Do something with the header, your logo is too small and does not tell anyone what your site is or what it can do for them, concentrate of the benefits to your visitor. Write or buy some real estate related articles so your visitors have something to hang around for. Your site is not "sticky" yet because you have too few listings and content. If you beef up the content the search engines will help you get traffic. You might want to rethink the categories as your listing are from all over the globe, you might want to add or change to specific areas then your type categories. Something like Europe, then the country, then the specific area. In the USA it would be by state, county, city perhaps and then type. Just some constructive ideas for you to ponder, good luck, Phil
When I need to do marketing for any of my web sites I write down all related web sites and business areas that come to my mind. Do a research and you will find some blogs, directories and other web sites where to advertise and to partner with.
Start a video podcast feed of a featured property each week and submit to Apple itunes and other podcast sites.
Post some free ads. I have a classifieds site with a real estate section that gets steady traffic. It's not a massive swarm but it's not bad. You get your own ad page, upload 6 photos, write what ever you want in the ad and get a free profile that viewers can view any time no matter where your ad is at the time. And the best thing is you can set your ad to never expire Free. Company Advertising Klassifieds 2 More classifieds with real estate sections. www.craigslist.org www.backpage.com
I would write allot of articles about everything you know about real estate. Every topic then submit those articles to free article directories. I pay a company to submit my articles to thousands of free article directories
Try getting some bloggers, especially those that write about real estate or investing, to blog about your site. Try to get some backlinks from other realtors in other cities or states. Write articles and have an FAQ on real estate related topics, you may also get many backlinks to your articles and FAQ. In this crazy market, you should get tons of realtors willing to list on your site to have any chance of selling their properties that have been sitting there for months. Offer these realtors something free to entice them to refer people to your site or list on your site. Maybe incorporate a Google Maps API showing listings around the city. The visitor clicks on the little icon on the map and brings up a listing, etc. Do some press releases too. Since it's a local thing, you might be able to offer local real estate/investing clubs something, like a club sponsorship or their own page. Maybe do some little seminars for them and/or the local first time home buyer folks. You could then mention your site. You may be able to get some backlinks from them too.
