Marketing my book and website

    Hi All

I have a website www.furnacebook.com -- I wrote a 70 page book on how to install your own furnace in your home.

The book has been selling at about 1 per day. (and getting great reviews)

My website is getting generic around 50 hits a day

I am slowly trying to get natural traffic there , through links, and videos, well one video that i put out on the network.

I made a squidoo page that linked to my site

I would really value some of the opinions on this board of how to market the site and the book better. AKA whats the best way to market this baby.

    All help appreciated --

There are probably many things you can do, for instance you could do a ppc campaign.

But I would at least start to comment on blogs with related posts. Just subscribe to this rss from technorati (I just did the search for furnace), now you'll get a message every time someone writes about furnace.

If you post comments, you'll get links back to your website and you'll be promoting your book at the same time.

You could also sign up at hubpages and write a brief description about installing furnaces and link it back to your sales page for your book. Do the same on ezinearticles--just rewrite your copy to not look the same as your hubpages article. You could also sell the book on eBay and or Amazon.

Try to contact relevant sites/blogs, offer the webmaster/blogger free book and ask them for an honest review. Many would gladly post a review of your book which would include some good relevant inbound links to you to help you with rankings. Another way to promote is to start an affiliate program and pay commission per sale to bloggers/webmasters.

Blog posting for sure on related blogs, some related youtube vids with domain name on them and linked even anything kinda related to furnaces humour things etc, build backlinks with keyword anchor soon as you get enough posts here slap it in sig for a start.

Really though, one a day not a bad start keep being consistent on all your efforts and you should do well :)

Good idea, and to elaborate somewhat: see if you can find any sites on the topic of home improvement or related to the broader niche to which building your own furnace belongs. Then, from this list, see if any has a newsletter with tips etc. That would imply a list of subscribers who might be interested in your book. You can then offer a copy of your book for free to the owner of this mailing list, and maybe do a joint venture with him where he gets a commission for every copy one of his subscribers buys (after he included his review on the book in one of his newsletters, of course).

You can also write a few short articles and submit them to EzineArticles or some of the other article directories (if you haven't already done that).
