I opened a streaming movie blog on June 9th. Since then I have gotten over 8k hits, and over 4k UV's, yet the average time on my site is only 01:21, isn't this a little low for a movie site? I added some affiliate ads on the left, blended them well, but I have yet to make any money off of them. I am using another PPC ads between movies, and I have been making about $1 per day. Traffic Stats: Search Engines (45.03%) Referring Sites (42.79%) Direct Traffic (12.18%) I posted my blog on 5 different forums, where I know there would be alot of younger guys, like car forums and bodybuilding forums, and I got ALOT of hits from those sites, should I continue to post on forums, or is there a better way to advertise my website? I am doing great in SE results, I am on the first page of results for a few of my movies (Kung Fu Panda & The Happening). How can I begin to monetize my blog for better income? I was thinking of trying Zango, the annoying pop up your get on most sites, but I heard it can make you alot of money? What would you guys suggest? Thanks in Advance DP!
Can you find related products/services to link to? Blockbuster has a great webmaster program for Blockbuster Online, which might be a great way to monetize people who like movies.
If you don't care about your visitors then go for Zango and One more thing Zango can hurt your SE traffic...Now its up to you
I saw your thread on the BB.com forums and it had very good results, keep posting on there...the traffic you can get from that site is insane.
Yeah, the BB forums are like 20% of my traffic! I keep a look out for people asking for movies, and I just link to my movies as much as I can.
If you post links to movies on the forums on a regular basis, you'll get constant traffic/reps...and once you're an authority figure there, you're gold.
The whole Misc section is going to love me, I found out that Bigger Stronger Faster is a highly saught after movie, that is not streaming anywhere, if I can get this movie up and streaming, the whole BB community will be kissing my ass!
I do not have access to your site but a slow loading video streaming site is one of the reason why people are leaving your site. I would not recommend monetization of a video streaming site unless you are starting to get about 500 UV a day. You can use PPC ads to monetize them but what really make you money with video sites will be CPM ads from Tribal Fusion and so on. However, you must have a high amount of page views before they will accept you into their network.
I was quite successfull and made some hunred $$s with Zango but atm I removed it from my site because of some testing reasons. Do you have any success with a new marketing method now?
I don't have a link to your movie site on me, but how are you monetizing it thus far? Mind telling us how it's doing? Just curious since you've seemed to have struck it big pretty fast with your streaming movie site...always cool to see a guy go from zero to making it big online.
The site is streamingmoviespot.blogspot.com - I am considering moving this to an actual domain, would it be worth it, or should I keep it free on blogger? Right now, I am not making any real money, a few bucks a day, but I want to turn this into $20+ per day, but I know these things take time, I want a sucessful site, all my sites so far are popular for 2 months, then die off.
Go for a real domain bro, get hooked up with a plan on Hostgator...you're on a roll, so $5-8 a month on hosting will be nothing
I can get cheaper hosting than that, but I am not sure how much space and bandwith I would need, do streaming movies use my bandwidth, or the site they are hosted on bandwidth?
The actual videos are hosted elsewhere, right? That's how you're able to broadcast movies without getting into legal trouble, if I remember your BB.com thread correctly. The sites they're hosted on use up the bandwidth. IMO start it out on a shared hosting plan, and just be ready to move onto a VPS when the time comes.
