How should I market a web design business locally, with a very small budget of 50$ or less.

    Post flyers?

    Thanks, Will.

Yea post flyers, I believe some newspapers have free classifieds if that would help you out at all.

My friend used to submit some articles to local newspapers to see if they would publish them, but note that we were both young at the time so we had no idea if they would or wouldn't. I believe he got at least one or two published though, which is pretty dang cool if you ask me.

Make stickers even, if they look cool enough you can hand them out to friends.

I have heard that advertising on your car can actually help big time too. Maybe bumper stickers or something of the sort...

Newspaper classified ads all the way, you will get some sales but the more you put your ad in the more familiar people will become to your business or offer, resulting in a higher ROI. I have had great responses but before you blow your budget , use some ads samples in a free online classified zone to see which one has the best results. Good luck :D

Spend money on nice-looking business cards. Next, hit the pavement. Go to businesses and utilize personal selling techniques.

Another avenue is to make phone calls.

You'll want to find other creativity workers in your area (writers, etc) to network with.

    make calls

    network at local business gatherings

go to Chamber of Commerce meetings and other events that attract local business people

post flyers in grocery stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations - any place with lots of foot traffic

find companies that have relationships with other businesses and trade leads

identify the top 10-20 local websites and ask for or buy links

a few things to get you going :)
