Hey Everyone, I have been seeing a lot of press lately about Second Life's swelling userbase (tipped to reach 40 million within two years) and the big name companies such as Sony, Major League Baseball and American Apparel who are trialling the marketing potential of second life. Does anyone here have any experience with marketing via Second Life to either promote their site and/or product? Thanks in advance, Brian
Look up Pat O'Brien's avatar "Koanwrangler Ibanez". He just launched his new book on his "Portable Empire Island". Hit #1 so he must've done something right! I tell ya, mainly he's just a nice guy...I know that may sound trite, but really he hangs out on his floating carpet at his place and folks regularly stop by to talk shop. He's very helpful. Ive heard that SL marketing yeilds a bad ROI, at least for major retailers who have sunken investments into SL outlets but only score a few points for brand recognition.
Good thread, I just came in looking for info from people using Second Life to market their real life products. Anyone here actually doing this?
I've heard something about you being able to setup a virtual store in Second Life when you use the paid account?
