only advertise in a market where you can deliver content of value to that market. I met a guy at a tech conference about 5 years back and he advertised in the back of 'the sunday times' supplements in england for 3 years, it was only a little ad but was really good at driving traffic apparently - his words "far better than adwords". i think if you are going to engage in offline advertising then make sure your site fits that demographic...and you have something to deliver. i had some free advertorial in a house magazine in the UK on the back of a PR release for one of my sites which was based around furniture deals online. The feature drove about 8,000 visitors to my site, and probably made me about £720 (high AOV in this area) - not sure how much i made long term from those visitors though... hope the above is of some use in your decision making...
I would have to say, no. As above people prefer to work on local level for such matters. If I was yourself, I would spend my money on stamps and mail shot some local business's, with page design offers.
yea why wouldnt it be, make sure you have the language down so your ad doesnt look silly. Just call them, im sure they would love your money.
