Hi there, I recentlly built a backlinking SEO Service site to sell mainly High PR profile backlinks. The only problem is I don't know how to market this type off service. I was inspired by sites I've found on Flippa that do the same. The sellers claim to have earned good money in short periods off time. They offer proof and a report on how to continue marketing in the future for the buyer. I've emaild the sellers to ask if the would sell me their marketing strategy report but none will I think it is stupid because they are in the business of selling websites and there are hundreds out there. So why would they care if one more person would do the same?.... Adwords doesn't allow these types of websites. SEO is to competetive and I'm not sure yet about forum marketing.... Are there marketeers out there with experience that can help me out with some tips and techniques? much love Serge
Offer free review copies on webmaster/seo forums to build up a reputation. Get live chat and be online so people on your site can talk to you. Set up an affiliate program and develop a good affiliate section to encourage others to help get you leads/sales. Make sure to offer good info on your site and have good sales copy - you are in a business that many view as shady, first appearance can mean a lot. Get at least a few PR as anyone who knows anything about SEO will check to make sure you know how to increase the ranking of your own site.
Try to exchange banners with some start-up seo companies (you can try also contact some big-players, but i think it would be just a waste of time)
It will be natural for them not to share their techniques, they came up with it after the effort of testing and some time of waiting. You must make your own strategy if you want to succeed. Have you considered working your offline market. You are right, SEO is a competitve market. You start with 0 trust online. When you are able to move into your local area, things are different though. Offline you have much less competition. There are fewer people that are doing it. Online, it seems like everyone is doing SEO. Find friends that you can do the work for free just to get something to show other people. 90% of your efforts in running a SEO business is everything except SEO. As Dan Kennedy would say, you are not in the business you think you are in. You are in the business of marketing that service.
The greatest tool you can use is Social media which is strong and effective.You can use fb,twitter and forum marketing to get success in this. If you can do it of your own its good otherwise don't hesitate to hire an expert and reliable social media team to do that for you may be some one like convertforce.com.
maybe you can put some ads on Facebook so that more and more people know your sites. Or you can contact with some Search Engine Optimization company for cooperation.
Well it's a long shot to expect folks to give out their business outline especially if it works, you would have to come up with your own strategy based on theirs to get yours off the ground
Wow lot's of great advice here! I'm gonna try and look in to some of it. I have put two ads up on on buysellads. Both on marketing/seo/blog related sites with a lot of traffic. Up untill now the CTR is horrible (0.01%). I going to try to get a better looking banner for A/B testing (any cheap banner creators out there?) One of the web site sellers told me she will give me her marketing strategy for $500 dollars......It's a lot of money for me and I'm affraid of being disapointed but yet I'm very curious. She gave me her personal email and told me that it made her a lot of money. Her site has no PR as well and looks worse than mine...
So you are saying that you bought a website from someone (like through Flippa or the BST of a forum like DP) and now they are offering you their secrets for $500? Please keep your money. If you got $500 worth of "strategy" out of it, I would be truly amazed. If you got even $50 worth of "strategy" out of it, I would still be amazed. Now if you were paying $500 to someone reputable within the industry for some 1-on-1 coaching, that might be a little different story. The $500 marketing "strategy" she is offering to sell you is likely on of the many versions of; do on page seo, make some backlinks, use craigslist, do something offline, make some mini sites, etc etc etc, all with her own "personal twist". If it is a classy strategy, it will have dated things that no longer apply, or will actually hurt your site because Google has changed since it was written. Now if she is really talented (in getting money out of people, not making you money), she will let you know about a program that can help automate things for you and save you time, which she has either resell rights for or just has an affiliate link for and hopes you won't stop to think. Even if you do stop to think and start recognizing what is happening, she still has your $500. Maybe she has another exclusive strategy in a few more days, or a website to sell that will make you rich within a month? If that is her game, she will keep going until you close your wallet or don't have a wallet to close because you pawned it to get a little more money to spend with her. I could be completely wrong, but I am sure plenty of other people here on DP can weigh in on their experience with things like this, and how the overall situation smells. You are the ultimate target for her if you already bought a website from her. Why? Because you already opened your wallet once. Sure, it was for a website, but you had money then and that is a good sign to someone who wants more. Please use extreme skepticism with anything that promises to make you money online in exchange for you paying for it. If you are starting out in the area of trying to make some money online, go out there and look for free information. Understand that you can learn a large amount of everything anyone knows for free. There are very few secrets out there and an even fewer of people with those secrets who are legitimate and willing to sell them. Once you get past that, the biggest problems with strategies are a) Google keeps changing so anything that was trying to use tricks gets outdated by the time many buy it, and b) they are usually quite specific and can lose some or all value when trying to adapt them to an individual's situation. Problem B is also why I said coaching might be a different story. Coaching addresses your specific situation, something an eBook cannot in most cases. With a coach, you get all your questions answered and the learning is on your level, not the level of an eBook writer. If you really want to spend money that is burning a hole in your pocket, try looking for some information on coaching. Just keep in mind that coaching has become a big of a scammer's game too. Make sure to do your homework to increase your chances of finding someone legit. Just a final disclaimer, I am not trying to say that all eBooks are 100% bad and never a good idea. They can deliver information that is free, but do it in a more comprehensive and succinct way. Just don't go looking in them for amazing secrets and strategies that will make you rich.

I know I haven't got many posts here, but I've been trying out stuff for some time now. I just haven't gotten any real succes yet and I guess I'm hoping to find "the secret"....but now I know not to spend any money on this.
