I would start locally; which means hitting the pavement or phones. Sousen's steps are good starting points. A great place to start is your yellow pages.. 1) Pick your sector of business (ie...CPAs, plumbing) 2) Pick the businesses with the biggest ads 3) Run a keyword search specific to their region and business (ie...kansas city CPA). Print out results. Great to show prospect how many searches are actually taking place. Better if you can do this in person. 4) Run SEO analysis on their website/page. Print out. 5) Draw up proposal. 6) Drop off proposal and reports at prospects business. Tell 'em you'd like to share a little bit of information about their web presence for FREE. 7) Make appt to follow up
