Marketing for an entertainment site

I am currently working on an entertainment related site and I was looking for ideas from my fellow DPers on how to promote and market such sites.

What do you think are the best ways to market entertainment related sites ?

Find directories that list sites like yours and get your site added to them. The best way to get in on the traffic sources are to talk to other webmasters and get them to send you some traffic.

 

Hi! in my experience the fastest way to drive traffic to your entertainment site is social media. Facebook and twiter are amazing. They drive incredible traffic to your site, if the content is really good. Since this is an entertainment site it's probably going to be easy to promote your articles on facebook fast. Everybody loves watching a funny video or picture. As soon as you get your first 100 visitors try placing 2leep, wahoha,avalanchers,mgid widgets on your site! they will boost your visitors in no time. unfortunately this is not seo... if you don't drive them traffic they won't give you anything. social bookmarking sites can also help you increase your rankings... hope this helps

 

totally agree with steff. you should really try to get people to "like" your page or tweet about it or help spread the word on other social media sites. getting good social media buttons and placing them on a viable place through out your site will def help

 

I agree that social media is best for entertainment categories, at least from my experience.

 

Create a blog , write some articles about your site products ,
and on facebook , make a fan page , publish some news !

 

Well there's more to it than that but it's a good start.
