Marketing for a Tax Attorney Firm

    Hi guys,

So, in additional to doing IM stuff on my own, I've also started my freelance gig today, which is marketing a tax attorney firm. If requested, I can post a link in the comments below.

Beyond the usual suspects, such as posting on places like LinkedIn, forums, Social Media, etc., I was thinking about creating some "Web 2.0 places" like Hubpages, Squidoo, weebly, tumblr, blogger, etc.

In regards to that, could I syndicate the content from our website/blog, once the information has been indexed by the Googles? I also what to find some Wiki pages, Yahoo answers, etc. so that one of our attorneys could post the technical stuff on there (with links pointing back to the main site, of course)

What are some other places that I could hang out/post info?

I have worked extensively with criminal defense attorneys the main place to help them is usually getting their profile on Google Places.

In addition make sure they have an active active with Avvo.com and also take a look at Nolo.com. Some attorneys make a great deal of money advertising on there.

Besides posting links, make sure to post many citations of their business, so that the Google local algorithm ranks their website higher in the local results.

    Hello,

I think if you go to SearchEngineWatch.com and search their site for Google+ you will find some interesting articles about how Google+ is/will affect search results. In this case I don't just mean the law firm's website, but the Google+ Local Listing, and content that you are posting through these other sources.

Law firms need to be listed in FindLaw, Martindale Hubbell's Lawyer.com and AVVO are the primary three sources.

Managing the Local Business Listings both from a marketing standpoint and a syndication is needed.

The syndication of the local business listings will help with citations too.

Do a search on their physical address and see where they are listed. You may find websites with old information or websites where they should not be listed.

If you use websites like Patch.com or MerchantCircle.com, you will want to post updates regularly so the listings have some value with fresh content.

Setting up city landing pages using Schema.org's coding structure to classify the location information will help too.

I'm sure I could keep going on other ideas for you, but hopefully this is a good starting point for consideration.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! We're on avvo.com, but it appears that we are not on nolo.com. I'm putting together a plan to roll out this new initiative that we're working on (that coincides with the tax season).

They're already ranked in the Googles (varies on page one, depending on the keyword), but yeah. I'll be staying on top of that.

FindLaw is doing quite a bit for us now (mostly SEO and what not), and the firm is on AVVO.

Bizarrely, we are not on lawyer.com, even though he is recognised by Martindale Hubbell.

Patch isn't in our area yet, but I'll be keeping tabs on it...we are on Merchant Circle though. How do we update that regularly?

Any other ideas would be great, I'm starting to run out of them myself. LOL

    Hello,

If you log into the Merchant Circle account, in the dashboard, there is a tab called "Publish". You can use this for regular daily or weekly postings. The editor allows for quite a number features including photos.

    Hope this helps.
