I'm putting the finishing touches to http://www.marketingchat.org It's basically aimed at small and medium sized business owners who want to improve their online sales and marketing. I still have to add some SEO tools, though I'm going to get some custom made as I have a few ideas that haven't been done yet. I'm also going to accept article submissions, though the emphasis has to be on quality. Any ideas on how to approach this? Any other suggestions/ideas are more than welcome.
decent design , loading was quick, integration is fine not sure its custom design or premade , good work overall more u can have something scrolling in home page for latest updates.
Thanks Mike, the feeds still need some work weeding out the spammy ones, if anyone know of any SEO/Marketing RSS feeds that I haven't already included let me know.
Matt, you have an excellent website. Looks very clean and tidy. The layout and the use of AdSense is perfect.
I'll wait and see how the adsense performs, ad revenue isn't a huge priority for the site, I'd like to build a good resource first and foremost. If it gets to the stage that I have to make the advertising too intrusive then it'll get removed. Thanks for the encouragement though
Thanks I've added a some graphics to make it a bit more pleasing to the eye and am working on a forum integration with VB instead of the SMForum I had before. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have integrated the member logins for both sites also. I'm on the lookout for more articles, anyone know of anyone who has internet marketing articles that may want to post them on the site - in return for a link back of course
Apart from the logo, the site looks good. Good Adsense integration, nice colour combinations, clean and crisp layout. I like it!
Matt, looking very good! Like the layout, ads implementation, content. Just great! Noticed one thing.. Using FF, see attachment, this category: http://www.marketingchat.org/content/blogcategory/6/9/. The text goes over the page. Also you might want to make the titles of the article clickable to the articles. Bookmarked it for future reference
Thanks WhatIFind, was that error in the news section? If so I'm aware of it, it. The news if pulled in from an RSS feed and automatically posted. It's all well and good until it pulls in a picture or long URL that throws the layout out. I'll try to find a fix for it I'll get the article titles changed, good point and an oversight on my part!
Matt; is was the link from the left hand menu to Search Engines. When using the link to directory from the left hand menu, it doens´t show the category links. When using the link to the directory from the top banner it does show the category links. I´ve included the links as reference. See the difference.. You also might want to set up mod_rewrite module to make it more sef.
Yes, that news section is pulled from RSS feeds. I can either get around it by dropping the feeds that pull in pictures/ads, or going to one column on that section which I'd rather not do. I'll see if there's another way around it. Whoops, thanks, it should be fixed now I have a component installed for that, I'm having a few problems configuring it for some sections though hopefully that'll be fixed by the weekend. Thanks again for your help
very nice site indeed...Bookmarked..nice domain name as well. But don't you feels that you have added just too many sub-forums in forum ? why not just look to build upon only marketing related areas and than later on you can add more categories.
Hi, If you want to make your website more seo friendly i think you should install an component that make an http://www.marketingchat.org/component/option,com_magazine/Itemid,4/ url in http://www.marketingchat.org/magazine.html and change the favicon. In the forum part you should put your own website logo. Regards, Adriano
