    Hi everyone,

I posted a question to this board about a week ago, and the only response I got was that I should sign up to similar forums to my own (political/any talk forums) and have my address in my signature. Not enough time for that.

How do I actually drive traffic to this site? I'm amazingly low on budget until I get a job out of college, at which point I'll be happy to pump money into advertising. Until then, what can I do?

    Thanks,

    Dan

You'll have to rely on natural SEO, start off by submitting to as many directories as possible, if you have any budget at all you can find someone to do this for you for about $20 for a couple of hundred directories. Also try writing articles and submiting them.
Set up some link exchanges with similar sites. This is all a long term strategy, though you should start picking up some nice traffic before long.

Okay. If I submit my articles to sites (still not sure which ones), I'm assuming that they then link my site?

Yes, and in addition, other Webmasters can pick up your articles, creating additional backlinks (you'll need to include a link to your site in the Resource Box at the end of your articles). These backlinks can increase your ranking in the SEs, as well. Do a search for 'free article directories', and you'll come up with a list longer than you know what to do with - in addition, search the forums, and you'll find posts with preexisting lists.

    HTH,
    Sam
