    Hi DP Members,

My colleagues and I recently put together an e-book containing information relevant to Job Hunting and Interview Techniques, aimed at those in the market seeking to improve their chances in job applications.

The e-book is 13 pages and we have priced it at $12.50, available on a 3rd party website. Unfortunately however we have been unable to attract many visitors to the free preview, let alone generate a sale. Although the book has only been online for several days, we would like to increase numbers in the future!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can generate more visitors, and possibly more sales?

    Regards

What have you done so far with regards to marketing it?

Go promote it on forums, try article marketing as well and bookmark all your articles. Build a blog and web 2.0 properties too. Why you selling it through a 3rd party? They going to advertise it for you or do they have an affiliate program to take advantage of?

Twitter might be a good place to try promoting this product as well.

    Hi HR MBA,

Creating the product and setting up the website is less than half the job. You need to get traffic to your site and that doesn't happen without any work.

You either have to pay for advertising or use the many free techniques. You're in the right place to find out the best techniques here.

Most people start with the following:

    Article submission
    Forum posting
    Blogging
    Blog commenting
    Bookmarking
    Social networks
    and so on...

There's no real shortcuts here. Put in the work and you'll start getting traffic. Set up Google analytics to check how much traffic you're actually getting.

We are using a provider called Lulu to sell the book, they take a commission but facilitate the sale. The book has been promoted across many different forums aimed at particular markets, however no bites just yet. I'll take your advice and dig a bit further, thanks your suggestions!
