I Recently started an arcade Called GameGrind. Ive been wondering how am I gonna get traffic . Well , I came up with couple different ways.
    1. Social media such as digg, stumbleupon, facebook & more.
    2. Behh hhh Actually I came up with only one way .. Now I'm wondering what can I do more then just use social media websites.

I heard about forum posting but never tried it .

If you wish to help a beginner , could you give me some great ways to drive traffic.
If anyone has some particular experience with arcade websites & wish to help me out I may have some money for you.

    Thanks!

This will be a tough nut to crack. The gaming site market is already highly saturated, and integrated games on Facebook aren't helping any. The best thing that comes to mind to me would be to start building a social media presence. It'll be tough going at first, but if you keep clawing and scratching like I did (begging friends to like, asking them to pass it along), you'll get a foundation. Then, a reward tactic is best to grow. Maybe have a high score contest for a particular game in a certain week. You could have a cash or other prize. And once you get enough traffic and traction, you might be able to get a company to give you something to give away (a game code, gaming hardware).

Be active on social media too, but not too active. No more than a post within 12 hours, or people will get annoyed, trust me on that one. The beauty of social media is one of my pages has just shy of 900 likes, but "friends of followers" is nearly 300,000 people. That's the true power of social media.

The biggest thing for you will also likely be to try to make some friends and affiliates. Someone who can point traffic your way. Try to differentiate yourself with something that makes them want to come back or to visit you versus the thousands of other gaming sites.

Good luck! Hope this was of help!

Find the top blogs, youtube channels, forums and facebook pages related to your game and start participating. Leave links to your page where necessary and appropriate. Create your own pages and profiles so that every time you comment or engage it links back to you. Yes gaming is very competitive, but you want to be in competitive niches. That is where the money is.

This does springboard a bit. Engaging in relevant forums (or forums in general) and having a link to your site in the sig can generate alot of links. Of course, shear numbers alone aren't enough, it's the number of links from different sites that also matters, and "quality" links from reputable sites are worth more than those from link farms. Google also recognizes link farms and they likely do nothing, or possibly hurt you in Google's eyes.

Try talking to your "customers" on video game forums their are plenty out their. Post the link in your signature a 1 link advertise and then just talk with them as part of the forum like you would do their and they'll click through bringing you traffic.

I forgot to add, paid advertising, is also a great way to go. It is not cheap but for something like yours getting some customers to "spread the word" may be the best way to go for getting started. Best of luck!

You also need to make sure you have that one game that no one has.

Yeah, niche is very important. Other way is advertising through... like... EVERYTHING. social media, related sites etc.
