Marketing an Advertising site

I just launched a new web site (in my signature) focused on using humor in Advertising. Basically, it is a portfolio with samples of my Cartoon Advertising and Design Services:)

Most of the site's traffic comes from Google but I need to increase it, so I decided to experiment and start promoting and marketing it.

Can you guys take a look at the site and give some feedback on what you think?

Any marketing ideas for a site like that, other than press release, myspace and digg?

    Thanks!!!

Try getting as many backlinks as possible. You could do link exchanges with relevant websites or buy links.
You could also get some paid postings on blogs that get decent traffic.

dalv, i checked out your site.

You got everything you need to make use of viral marketing.

get some funny cartoons speading via email and brand it with your website name. If it's a funny cartoon targeted to make anyone in advertsing laugh, you should get their attention.

Firstly, I'd work out who your target market is as it's no good promoting your site/work without knowing who they are.

Once that is discovered, promote your site to where ever their eye-balls are likely to be or where ever it's conducive for them to make a purchase.

I feel too many people spend time on promotion rather than the vital aspects of marketing.

    Good points! Thanks!

I think my main target is small to medium start-up businesses. Any ideas how I may find out such information?

Is there such a thing as a new small business registry?

    :)

Well seeing your site/business is very much on (&) offline, I'd suggest you look up businesses in you local area. Perhaps ask your local council whether there is a small business directory available -I am sure there is.

Lovely cartoons, interesting ;) ... would of buy some if they didn't just cost too much for what i had in mind to do with them.

Anyway, as someone mentioned your business is off and on line so you have a large view on marketing it. And the best thing is, that similar site can be advertised on different topics...humor, business forums and many more, and it will certainly work out because those are really lovely cartoons..and yours is a hilarious idea i really like it.

Good luck and best wishes ;)
