Marketing A Website - Help

Hey fellas. New to the boards!

I recently purchased and developed a sports betting system and website. I'm in the process of attempting to market it, although I'd prefer hiring a marketing manager with a successful background.

I have a budget of $1,000-1,250 for marketing each month. And PPC isn't allowed for this genre. What would you do?

The two major sources I'm looking at are: Article marketing, Banner ads (still looking for sites). Are there any other marketing methods I should look at? How would you split my budget for marketing?

Any help you guys can point me to is appreciated. BOL to all.

    Hey tjacks,
I'm a newbie here as well so you're in luck cause I'll be giving you a free consult!
I own a marketing agency so this is right in my alley.

To start off you should register around 5 keyword rich domain names and create portals with a Lead Capture System. These portals should be a simple landing/squeeze page with a catchy promo video or bullet points and you should offer some type of Free Report to encourage people to subscribe (ie: Sign up to get free 10 picks). In order to do this you will need an auto-responder (aweber should work just fine). Set up the auto responder with a Opt-in confirm and set up the follow up reports to send right after they sign up. These portals will be leading people to your main site btw. The money is on the list, so after you build your you can create monthly/weekly newsletters.
I dont know what kind of product you are selling but I would consider working with affiliates. Look into clickbank or other networks to add your product.

If you are doing articles you should also have a syndicate RSS feed linking back to your main site (blogs are great for this)

Other options are Press Release Syndication, Craigslist Ads, SOCIAL MEDIA SITES CREATION (twitter, hubpages, squidoo, googlepage, etc)
Video Marketing - create a youtube branded channel and also syndicate your videos to other sites, try to stick to reality style videos

Most importantly you should also look into SEO and Keyword Analysis in order to build a strong foundation for your site, you can't beat free traffic right :)

These are only a few ideas since I don't really know your product. If you wanna discuss them in more detail shoot me a PM and we'll talk.

Hope I was able to help you out and good luck!

Doesn't look like you have too many options. Consider marketing through some of the lower / second tiered pay per click search engines, as some may still allow your type of sites to be promoted. Just check their advertising guidelines below sending them your budgets!

What about a video on youtube that links to your website. Maybe it could be a tutorial on how your system works.
All the best with your venture.

You should hire an expert in Internet marketing for that regard. How about if you try press release? You can find a lot of good press release sites on google.
    Good luck.

I would suggest to get some legal advice. Betting money is not allowed in some countries, you have to be careful about that in your marketing strategy.

OP is banned, but I advise you check out some other smaller networks.

I would look at CPA networks or affiliate marketing with your budget.

I own an internet marketing education company and would be happy to help, email any specifics if you can.

You happen to be in a pretty big niche - betting is a huge industry, but as mentioned in one of the posts above it's a grey area in certain locations. Consider things like creating a youtube video and submitting to various video engines. Also, forum marketing in betting forums plus find JV partners who may want to promote your system for 60% + of profits.

The betting niche is also a good one to build an opt in list for, so ensure your site has that capability.

PM me if you'd like help.

Sorry guys, I was banned for appearently responding to someone somewhere I wasn't supposed to be posting yet? Thanks for the warning. Anyways rules are rules so I hope I can post in myown thread (if not, look for me in 7 days).

I'm looking for a Marketing Manager for the guy who mentioned that. I have a few banner ads going out as well to hopefully attract some specific traffic. I'm also trying to learn more about link building, SEO and various ways of attracting traffic.

My site currently convers 1 in 75. My short term goal is 5,000 uniques per month. Is this feasible?

Thanks again for the replys. If you know anyone interested in managing a marketing campaign, send him my way (I hope I can post that without being banned.. again)

Wow, that is an incredible budget. With that, I suggest you pay people to write and submit articles for you, and you should sign up for a system like Unique Article Wizard. Even with just $1,000, you could probably get your site ranked #1 if you do article marketing correctly.
