Marketing a successful Kickstarter campaign

    Hi all,

I have a Kickstarter campaign currently running. It funded in around 20 minutes and is now at 350% funded in under 6 days, but it's slowing down. It's already beyond what I hoped for when starting, but now I'm at this point it seems silly to not push for a bit more.

I've got reviews coming up on some blogs in the next few days which will give a boost, and I have emails timed to go out to my mailing list segments over the next couple of days to hopefully grab the members that haven't signed up yet.

What else can I do that actually gets results? I'm promoting posts on Facebook which do OK, but Google ads haven't done much of anything so far. I've got an affiliate scheme running with Kickbooster which has resulted in a few sales, but I don't work in affiliate marketing at all so don't know how to get that out there to the people that would be interested in promoting it.

If anyone has any experience either getting sales on Kickstarter or getting affiliate links out there then I'd love to know what you think.

FYI I've purposely not linked to the campaign or the affiliate program as I don't know the rules here well enough and don't want to be done for spamming. It's easy to find if you're interested, just search for "modern dive watch" and find the project by Ross Davis. Should be the first result.

Create Videos, statistics show, campaigns with them have a much higher probability of being successfully funded. Speak with friends, family and loved ones on your concept. Create testimonials from the current backers on why they feel this is a good product. That will increase your campaigns credibility. Good luck to you.

Have you tried Youtube or Instagram marketing? Putting up pictures or video you may have of your product or anything related to it might help generate some interest.

For kickstarter, it's more about generating social media buzz and gaining traffic/interest that way.

Very True, however even if Kickstarter feels you have a good product, they'll bump up visibility as well. They have a good section on fundraising on the site, that goes over fundamentals of it.

and for google campaign not doing well yet, maybe you should adjust your targeting, also i suppose google ads don't work on auto mode, you should use the first week or two to analyse traffic data. This traffic data will give you details of how to target your audience better. you can also run 3 to 5 campaigns, maintain the best 2, drop the worst 3 and continue like that till you get the best out of it. Wish you luck
