So basically, I got hired as an event specialist for Sams Club. My first project is to sell a cat litter brand. Our company has a greet-tell-sell strategy, they want us to use. Now I haven't done anything marketing related in the past. How do i approach the customer with the product after greeting them, Like Hi, how are you today, do you own a cat ? These are some of the details of the product. They also want me to encourage people to lift the substance to feel how light it is.
    1. 50% lighter than the leading scooping litter
    2. Continuous Odor Control
    3. Light, tight clumps for easy scooping

Hello! You can try to tell about the product directly. No other questions. Something like: "Hello! We have a new..." and the ones that have cats will surely be interested and stay for all the chat. Good luck!

You can buy banner ads on the relevant websites. Your product is related to cats, so you can buy ads on animal, petting forums, on websites that have cat and dog pictures, on a blog that portrays information on having pets etc. This will help in getting in contact with the right audience.

It sounds like you are on the right track. When direct marketing to people you have to be a little aggressive but not too aggressive. The first thing you need to do is politely grab their attention and find out if they own a cat. If they don't then there is really nothing else to talk about but if they do then you will jump straight into the product and talk about the best benefits first. For example, if it's a healthier product for cats that would be the first thing to talk about because people want their cats to be healthy. Also, just as an example, if an older person came up to you and had a cat you would want to go into how the product is lighter because they are older and don't want to carry heavy items.
