Marketing a niche video and image site

I created a site called Film Roster which hosts movie related images and videos.

I'm trying to come up with ways to get it more exposure. I've been using the big social bookmarking sites (digg, reddit and stumbleupon) and been getting decent traffic from them but it doesn't convert as well as I'd like it to.

I know people have been mentioning SEO a lot, but I'm not sure how to go about getting a lot of back links.

Aside from SEO, are there other recommendations?

How are you promoting these videos? Are they just standard trailers that are elsewhere online, or are you putting some sort of twist on them to make them more viral?

    How old is the site?

PM the address and i might be able to help you out a bit, I've ran many successful video sites.

    I PM'd you the address

To answer your question, I'm taking the trailers and other videos from various sites around the net and hosting them on the site. Same goes for the images.

The site was originally supposed to be a web 2.0 rating site for movies, but after a couple of weeks it never took off so I gave up on it and started adding the movies and images. That part of the site is about 2-3 weeks old.
