Marketing a gaming forum

    hi there, i have just bought a gaming forum which is a forum about the game diablo, im wondering, how do i promote it on a low budget, i need members and nice search rankings, any ideas

    Post on other gaming forums with a sig link back. Post on blogs, write a blog, post on myspace. There are a ton of ways to do it...

    I would suggest marketing via social media.

    Create a Facebook group and invite as many people possible.
    Twitter account

    or maybe make a contest.

    First of All make sure it exit in Search Engine. Then strart Social media side, go to the Diablo Forums dd you signature as well.

    What kind of forum script it is? Is it SE friendly?

    Go on Amazon and grab a couple of copies of Diablo Ultimate Strategy Guide and stick in a big banner advertising a competition for the most active forum members.

    Are there any mods or patches to Diablo? Sorry, dunno anything about it - I'm a Quake person :p If there are mods can you open a downloads section? Works like magic!

    Personally, I would start a diablo channel on youtube. And from there start posting some diablo 1 and diablo II videos. D3 is already a pretty hot topic, and its only going to get hotter. But you want to get people interested in your site right now "before" D3 is released.

    Also, you might want to work on your forums. Get away from the default phpbb 3 skin, and maybe even switch over to MYBB. The MYBB themes are a lot better looking then the phpbb ones.

    Maybe even add a few more categories for Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. This would make your forum rounded towards the whole diablo community instead of just D3.
