I have a site, http://tutorial-index.com which I just recently released a member system, along with forums. We have 50+ members at the moment, but overall, im highly disappointed with the turnout so far. I do however, want to flood a bunch more members into the forum, so that it doesn't run dry of activity. Do you guys know any ways of affectively advertising, and attracting members to forums period? Thanks
hi you could offer a small amount for people to post. we started our webmaster forum in november and offer uses 2 cents for every post they make. it has grown very well and is always busy now. steve
I don't think paying for post is going to help you longer as it may attract useless posts and everytime you have to pay for post. Alternatively you should start some useful and interesting topics and target specific community offering some contest, referal program etc that can attract people to join your forum.
paying per post is good when you are starting out new, but once the forum gets going you should withdraw the offer to see if users are participating for the real value and not just for the money you cant keep paying for ever
Definitely leverage your own in-house abilities to provide quality info for people seeking info, encourage questions to be asked. Do interviews with experts, etc
Pay per posts? Don't know how this idea helps. Anyway you can use ither forums to promote your forum.
have any of you guys tried point's systems? I was thinking about trying one, so more people would join
With all due respect, it does get a little tedious when people ask these questions over and over when there's already a plethora of related topics in this forum section, notably so on the first page. Just browse through them and create a resourceful document that lists all the methods you might find useful
