I was thinking of marketing my dating site on yahoo answers but don't like wasting my time. Has anyone here actually done this with positive results? Also, is it better to ASK questions with your keyword and link or to answer them? It would seem the question askers would get more traffic.
I have a dating site as well but I have never thought about marketing it on yahoo answers I should look into it though. I think you should ask and answer questions with your anchor text links.

The reason I ask is I see yahoo answers frequently on google and yahoo of course, in relation to a variety of topics. I am sure that if you focus on a variety of keywords you could get traffic. I just bought a WSO about doing this with yahoo answers and will report my results once I have tried it for a couple days... kastro_316, I sent you a PM.
You can definitely get some supplemental traffic from Yahoo Answers, but most likely nothing life changing.
My tips: 1. Make sure you are first to answer 2. Write a well thought out answer. Doesn't need to be long, but not too short either. 3. Put your link in the resource box, to avoid being seen as a spammer.
I can't believe I've not seen Yahoo Answers before - it looks like a very interesting and useful place to be posting messages. Yahoo Answers provides a steady source of targeted visitors but you must be careful, I follow the next simple rules to avoid spamming issues: 1- Pick a topic (closely related to your site's content) 2- Answer the question only if my content matches it 100% 3- I always use a link to the page in my website that explain exactly what it was asked. So far, mine have been choosen as best answer in a 40%, which is good to increase reputation
Yahoo Answers can bring a little traffic your way, but you should not rely on it as a primary marketing method.
