Marketing 2 different regional locations on the same website, is there a way?

The website I am working on is nothing fancy just something I am throwing together to raise awareness for homelessness in Denver, Colorado.....however, someone locally wants me to market a university in Tampa, Florida on it....is that really even possible? All my micro data, social profiles, marketing, press releases, everything is all regional to Colorado.

Would Google ignore me, dilute my rankings, or penalize me for being so off topic?

Seems like marketing a Florida university would be extremely irrelevant to the rest of your site. This seems like it's not worth it to do. I wouldn't move forward with it because you're sending Google mixed signals as to what your site is about.
