Market New site?

Hello again.

I have just launched my newest online site - a file hosting website, which offers rewards for the original uploader, if the file is downloaded more than X number of times. What is the best way to market such a site? I know people are going to say forums etc. So what I am looking for is some recommendations as to what forums sites I should be looking at.

I think the market you will be targeting is highly competitive. Giving rewards or money to uploaders is quite old and used by many of such site owners. I think you should firstly think something else which will drive visitors to you and then apply something else which will make you benefit.

Like mediafire do not have any problem with download speed. It do not cuts your downloading speed even if you are using free download. This is how they are trying to get their name in the market and once they are settled they will throw their cards...

 

Filehosting business is having a very tough competition but potential is also there. Why do not you try contacting webmasters offering products to download?

 

Check out big-boards.com and do a search for niche forums for postings. A search for "filesharing" returned a list with 17 foums: big-boards.com/kw/filesharing/

 

I would talk to webmasters about uploading vids and such on your site. Tell them how they could use the vids and the rewards they get out of them.

expertofexperts is right as the others are too in that its an old and tough niche now. But don't let that put you off mate. This is the internet and anything can happen. You need to think of doing something to make your site go viral. Add Facebook connect for starters. Be persistent, this is the internet. You can't really fail only not succeed as high as you dream but you might. Positive things happen to...

 

The way I see it. The domain costs me 8 a year and hosting for all my sites is about 6/month. So if any of my sites (5-8 of them) can generate over 100, then I am making profit.!
