Of course there is a market for logos - in fact, it can be quite profitable depending on the way you market yourself and your services.

For quick work, there are logo designers here in the Design forum - you can join them, but the going rate is around $10 for a logo.

As far as the long term is concerned, I would suggest putting together a portfolio and starting (and working hard) on a blog to build up your reputation as a credible designer online.

Eventually, it should pay off with the right kind of clients looking to you for design concepts and branding ideas.

Alternatively some people sell logo concepts on freelance websites in response to public bids, which you may want to check out.

List your services in the services section.

Actually, I may be interested in some logo work. :)

Creating clever ads, buttons, and other graphics could be the ticket for you.

FYI: I'd suggest listing your services on sites/forums of the various ecommerce scripts, such as osCommerce, Virtuemart (for Joomla), CubeCart, etc, since many of these internet business owners may not want to dedicate the time and energy to really good logos and other graphics. Plus, many don't have the skills for it. Really professional graphics can make a site look professional and like they invested in it, so they won't be closed down in a few weeks time; which helps to instill confidence in the customer. Get some good referrals too. *I used to refer a lot of people to the guy that did work for me, but he's now proving to be quite the loser lately, not doing the work in a timely fashion, etc. No more referrals to him!!

Otherwise, I'd say you could list on the various graphics sites, but most of the users on these sites would already be skilled in it.

I used to own a sign shop and we made at least $65.00 for designing a logo.
We could have charged more but the logo was then used on signs, vehicles, etc. Very profitable over all.

Yeah I feel the only way to make any money with logos is to provide a whole brand identity package. You can sell your logos on DP but you have to compete and the average is around 10-20 which in my opinion is very cheap because before I had paid $250 for a logo and it wasnt even as good as the ones here.

Yes there is a market for logo design. Check around the web using google for logo design forums and sites that hold contests. Loads of people are making logos and winning contests that can earn you a couple hundred dollars.

That is not a logo, that's more like a random render you threw together in 20 seconds.

But becoming good at logo design does take practice so keep practicing.

You may be able to make some money doing custom avatars for gamers and other forum folks.

Another nice thing about the skill is that it's something you could easily use toward bartering. I wish I were skilled at it, but I'm not.
