Okay, its been a while since i've returned to the whole website making and marketing buisness so I might be a bit rusty, which is why I decided to ask DP for some tips, since I first began everything from this site So here's my site: http://jointmelody.com It's going to be a community music website with English and Asian music videos with lyrics in a karaoke style - tending to the music listeners, lyric searchers and karaoke singers. I've started development on the website using SMF. You can see it here: http://jointmelody.com/index.php but it's not lauched yet. As for the videos itself, I have made 4 videos so far, publishing 3 of them already on YouTube, DailyMotion, Yahoo, Metacafe, Blip.tv and Veoh. I am planning to releasing at least one video a day so it generates some initial interest and hopefully get some subscribers, which then I can simply mail when the site is released so it doesn't die as soon as its launched. Any things you think I could do market it more before it's launch?
Have a few press releases ready to go, some articles, and as soon as you launch head into social bookmarking and attempt to get a buzz about your site. These should help your launch.
Somehow I highly doubt my target market will be lurking around press release websites or reading up articals... As for social networking, I'm leaning towards twitter at the moment. Not sure how else to utalize other social networking sites in this neiche though.
