I think the best bet for McCain's campaign is "I'm the only dog in this fight with any real experience."

Fucking Bill Clinton does not make you a senior states(wo)man, nor does a single term in the U.S. senate which you won because your opponent was knocked out of the race due to a nasty divorce scandal.

McCain has been getting a free pass from the media since 2000.

You do realize for the most part, the corporations and media sponsor the debates and control who gets this far?

I think the reason Obama has been getting so much friction, is that he is really a genuine leftist populist candidate. They tried to bury Reagan like this, but sometimes populism is too much for them to stop.

Mind you, being black and having a name that rhymes with Osama is a major issue. A lot of people are small minded bigots or totally misinformed.

Obama has received almost a completely free ride from the media. It's as if they are afraid to say anything potentially negative about him because he's only partially Caucasian.

Well, it's that combined with the fact that the mass media consists predominantly of leftists -- Obama's core constituency.

One, Reagan was backed by big business. With today's statist campaign funding laws, Reagan would have a very difficult time getting elected.

Two, populism is what brought the world leaders like Hitler and Mussolini. Don't be too enamored with bad ideas just because they are popular.

A democracy works on popular ideas. Not the mental gymnastics of the intellectual or wealthy class.

That said, we're probably 80% on the same page with Obama. Maybe even 90%. But he is the populist candidate this election cycle. He appeals to the broadest spectrum of uninformed voter, and has a platform that consists of nothing tangible.

Reagan was backed by the YAF, he had an activist army 3 times the size of Ron Paul.

Check out the graphic with the GOP brand getting crushed. Told ya so. In only 2 months, the Republicans have gone from competitive to almost DOA.

PS, Arianna Huffington is pretty hot for 58.
