It's a waste of time, the Americans don't even care about bringing people to justice for killing ALLIED FORCES so what chance does some Iraqi family have?

If British lives mean nothing to the US then Iraq civilian losses mean even less. It is utter madness that someone not being a US citizens life is worth any less.

Bringing people to justice would mean that they intended to do it, it was an accident, plain & simple, now have a rest...

Actually, we also have convictions based on gross negligence resulting in 'accidents' as well, so I don't see a problem with an investigation into potential negligence. If we investigate these problems when they crop up, and punish negligence if, and when it is found, they're less likely to happen in the future.

The Real 2006 Iraq Body Count

Iraqi civilians killed last year by Islamic Terrorists: 16,791

Iraqi civilians killed collaterally in incidents involving Americans (and Islamic Terrorists): 225*

Iraqis aren't dying from war. They are being murdered by Islamic terrorists.

    * (includes civilians caught in crossfire who may have been killed by the terrorists, and terrorists who may have been counted as civilians)

Yes. It would happen somewhere. Al Qaeda decided to attack Iraq after the coalition intervention, but if not -- they would have simply attacked elsewhere.

That's a tactical solution to a strategic problem. It's really sophomoric to think in terms that simple. The real issue is much larger, and will not be resolved by getting rid of OBL or by any action in Afghanistan.

Hahahaha... please... if you are going to say things that stupid, how can we possibly try to take you seriously?

probably...Iraq would still be a training ground for terrorism, the UN would still do nothing about it, and Iraq would also be siding with Iran looking for a fight...
didn't forget, we are still there, kicking some islamic facist ass...
that makes since, especially since the price of oil has dropped to $.10/gallon here in the states...btw, I am also getting rich from all the oil that George Bush is personally getting out of Iraq...I am one of the main investors...

Bad things happen all of the time. This will never end, as long as we are all human beings.

It's sad that most of the civilized nations of the world have adopted the short-sighted strategy of abandoning their responsibility of defending civilization.

They have dumped the task on America. This is fine, as we are more capable of handling it than any other nation on Earth. The trouble is that these nations are not being honest with themselves and their citizens about their actions. They are claiming moral superiority, when in fact they are exercising only a short-sighted selfishness.

Nothing like it was during the last few year , at least no civil war , less civilians killed ...

more than 700 000 civilians run away from iraq .

There is more terrorists now .

The country is a failure , each day 50-100 civilians are killed .

    etc ..

According to a poll by The Times of London, 49 percent of the Iraqi people believe they are better off today than they were under Saddam; twenty-six percent say they are worse off.

You are just mindlessly repeating Islamist propaganda.

I'm glad to see everyone here does not have a biased liberal agenda (Digg...)

This war is necessary, whether you like it or not. Have we forgotten 9/11? The terrorists attacked us, we did not go to the middle east looking for a fight; they had already started it.

If you want peace, prepare for war :)

And I don't know the exact details of the marine case, but you can't necessisarily questions his actions. Even if it was women and children... they are known to blow themselves up too.
