Apparently, recent results of studies in the uk demonstrates that it is on par with cigarettes in causing cancer.

There has never been a report, in which marijuana has caused cancer.

Smoking anything can cause cancer, you however do not smoke anywhere near the amount of pot you do of cigarettes.

True, like most illicit substances. It's pretty much already decriminalized here in Australia for personal use.

The problem with marijuana is that it can very easily become a daily habit as you can still function pretty normally, but it catches up with you...

    Im still undecided-

Deaths caused by marijuana? If you say 0, then youre not taking into account the number of deadly accidents caused by people high on marijuana.

Marijuana depletes ambition. Remember the anti-drug commercial about the kid talking about how he isnt in any danger from smoking weed because he doesnt leave the couch? If you refer back to my first statement, stoners eventually have to do something to make money to spend on more weed, thus, possibly causing a deadly accident.

I work from home, so I would love to be stoned while I work all day without having to go anywhere. But, I dont want to lose my drive to accomplish my goals due to smoking weed, it almost happened before, I dont want it to happen again.

I would love to see marijuana vending machines out in public like they have overseas. <3 <3 <3

So, I think the cons are outweighing the pros

You didn't even look at any pros.

How about the War on drugs either being stopped or the funds going after the hard drugs instead of 'pot'?
    Personal freedom.
Natural pain relief instead of being doped up on chemical crap.

Video games can cause just as much if not more ambition loss, I've watched it first hand.

Nobody is saying you should drive stoned

Anti drug commercials are also far from accurate..

    ^^ Man you'r argument sucks!
Are you allowed to drink at you'r work place? Are you allowed to drive after drinking?
People need to controll themselves and blaming a substance for something an idiot does while being under that substance is moronic.
There may be some accidents caused by ganja but how many people do you know who got stoned and started fights or bet theyr wife?

Being an alcoholic also depletes ambition. If you look at addiction potential, alcohol is more addictive then marijuana.

There are more people in jail for marijuana than anything else.

What a waste of our tax money.

What a waste of jail space, real criminals could be put in there.

^ The thing that hurts the most is that sometimes real criminals get off easier than pot dealers.....

^ That sounds like Romania :))

Just in case someone brings on the argument, we-r talking about ganja here not about heroin or other dangerous drugs.

Sorry, that was just a small / quick list that I didnt think anybody would reply to. This topic is a raging debate no matter where you look. I just get upset at the people who say marijuana causes 0 deaths. even though, im mostly pro legalizing, even if i dont smoke it (which I probably would of occasion).

Marijuana is also good for the eyes.

Marijuana plant is a great source of fiber for clothes, rope, etc.

Marijuana has a good smell(some cases), most of my friends who do not smoke, still like the smell.

Marijuana is a great pain killer.

    It is 100% all natural.

People bitch about pot, but will take vicodin, which is opium.

You are completely ignorant on the subject (or maybe you are joking - if thats the case then ha ha ha ). Stoners, cocaine heads and other drug users are holding political offices, performing surgeries, running major companies, acting in movies, recording hit songs, etc etc

It was legal in the US until 1933 when DuPont (their forerunner Co) discovered how to make synthetic materials from petroleum. They spent lots of money and finally convinced lawmakers to make it illegal.

However, during WWII the US guv was asking people to grow hemp (and many many did) for the war effort

    Very True!
