    Hi,

I don't know if this is the best forum section for this, but does anyone know if it is possible to map an ftp connection to a drive letter under windows?

    Googling hasn't helped me...

    Cheers

There are two ways to go about something like that.

X-Drive, I believe is one software maker who has a solution for FTP - to - drive letter. It's not FTP, but it works for remote file saving.

The other is one of the big ones - wsftp or cuteftp maybe - that has an explorer extension for uploading stuff.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I'm just trying out something called NetDrive by, I think, Novell. I'll let you know how I get on.

    Cheers

Unless you want to use it on the command line (in which case ignore this post), you can use Windows explorer (not IE!) to access your FTP server. Double-click on My Computer and type this in the address bar:

    ftp://your-ftp-server

You will get a prompt for credentials and will be able to work with your FTP folders as if they are local folders.
