there are some reason why amazon affiliate is so difficult to make money online:

    - When someone click in your amazon affiliate link you will make money only if they add the item to their shopping cart before 24 hours. If they don’t add the item into their shopping cart before 24 hours you will not get the comissions. Usually in many others similar affiliate programs it give you a 30-day cookie and that will be more realistic and have bigger chances to get the comissions.

-When you start with Amazon Affiliate program, they will give you 4% and depends on how many items you have been sold they will increase it.
    Here is the fees structure:

That means more time and more sales to make more money with them.

-They pay after 60 days, that means if you earn $150 usd for september you will get paid on Last november or last december.

How do you think about that statement ? I take this statement in other blog.

The only good thing, as far as I am concerned about the Amazon Affiliate program is, the program allows a webmaster to sell online with no outlay of your own funds. The payout percentage is very low, but you would have had to purchase merchandise or deal with a drop ship company to get into business.

My goal with Amazon affiliation is to perfect my sales and marketing skills and begin to sell my own products online and through Amazon.

It's not perfect, it's quick, it's not without a learning curve, but I feel a persist ant person should be able to make money with it.

    Cheers,

Amazons payout is pretty small even with their fee structure. However, I think knowing the fact that they are truly legit and will pay you is a good enough incentive to start out with them. Despite it being a good beginners source of revenue I would not recommend it to most people. You will need large traffic and a good CTR and some luck to make it with Amazon. Unless you cookie stuff your visitors. Then you might see good profits :p

My best month ever was something like $150 when one customer went on a shopping rampage.

The 24 hour cookie is the biggest problem with Amazon. But that's offset in many ways by sending your visitors to a reliable, recognizable store such as Amazon as opposed to XYZ Random Internet Store.

The key with Amazon is to then sell products that people will buy immediately without much thought, shopping around. I.E. - low margin items that people purchase without or with minimal hesitation.

I make about 99% of my income through amazon.co.uk

No other merchant converts like amazon.co.uk

It is a shame amazon.co.uk have just reduced their commission rates by about 45% for me but I can't really complain as it does convert so well.
