I posted this on another forum and thought it would be useful here, too.. I've noticed a lot of gaming websites have been adding their own comics lately. I love seeing more and more comics out there and available. CMS Many tie these comics in with their news system, but using a seperate CMS provides for more organization and more features. Here's a rundown on the many comic CMSes out there. Comikaze Comic Manager My personal favorite. Comikaze is extremely easy to integrate into an already-made design, but provides many useful features. Included is the ability to have multiple comics running from the same CMS, scheduled uploading, keyword and character search, news posts to go along with comic, or seperate news posts, and more. Xcomic Easy to install, and has the basic features needed for a webcomic website, including news posts. Not quite as simple to integrate into a design as Comikaze, but still works great and isn't too bulky or database-heavy. CUSP - Comic Update Script for PHP Formerly PHPComic, this is another bare-bones comic script, featuring a "powerful" template system. It also allows for news posts and scheduling of automatic updates. It's currently used by Nuklear Power's 8-Bit Theater. iManga Made especially for Manga, this CMS has all of the basic features, along with a full-featured template system, and automatic RSS feeds. Wordpress Plug-ins Many people have developed plug-ins for Wordpress to make it function as a web-comic CMS. MyComic Browser Very simple, easy to install. Good for bloggers who only need to post comics without any special features. wp-comics Also easy to install, and allows you to show your latest comics as a thumbnail in your sidebar menu. Webcomic Directories Of course, submit your comic to the typical search engine directories, but also check out these specialized webcomic directories. Online Comics The Webcomic List Comic Alert Hope this helped at least somebody.
