All the sites that require credit cards for signing up and they say that there are NO CHARGES.
Why do they need a CC then?!

hmmmm....I've seen that for trial/ demo offers, so they can start charging you as soon as the trial period has passed - but what sites are you referring to?

Just any site in particular, not the big trusted sites but the majority of them that ask for one. Isen't this where stolen credit card numbers come in?

Free with credit card is an industry standard everywhere from adult to main stream markets, including CNBC. They do this to remove people that are not really interested in the product, or dont have money to buy it in the first place, and at the same time keep a quality control in place, plus to make money.

Unless you are shopping at some really shady sites, you are more likely to have your CC stolen in a gas station or restaurant.

Yea most Ive come across like that are porn sites, which I wouldn't bother joining anyway, I mean why look at that crap that someone else is doing ? and then paying for it............
They do it for age verification, at first, but almost all of the sites Ive seen that require a credit card, even non porn sites, for a free trial, demo, etc, are pretty slick, because almost all of them have some terms hidden some place, where that FREE thing, is really a free trial for a number of days, ie. month, etc then you will start getting billed monthly, etc, and some of them sites have wicked fees if you quit, such as 6 month termination fee, etc......

lol.. life is not a free ride I always say. Always read over the terms before jumping in the water, because nothing is completely free, otherwise we or this forum would not be here. ;p
