Many of the same type urls represent the same product to solve with a 301?

A client of mine has a supplements shop and there are now many similar pages around a product.

    domain.nl/product.html
    domain.nl/product-2kg.html
    domain.nl/product-4-5kg.html

For 6 months there are rel = canonical on the 2kg, 4-5kg pages, but Google still puts the wrong urls higher than the right.

With a new update, we all grouped into one unique url
    domain.nl/product.html

What should we do with URLs that will no longer apply?

Should we put a 301 on that pages?

    Who has good advice.
