OP, Don't panic. Don't change anything, Sit tight and watch Keyword tracker.

You will probably find a bounce back and if you don't, before you make any major changes to what you have, hang about and check out the tide.

I have a very stable site. A couple of phrases plummeted out of sight today. This has happened before many times only for them to pop back in to places higher than before.

Same thing happened to me. All my big keywords plummeted and my site got kicked from 1300 unique visitors too 500. How long are we suppose to sit tight?

    Merrin,

It's true I've been a bit out the loop lately but what the hell are you playing at with your titles. If you have plummeted look there. What is all that 'Red Ihave no idea' biz on the home page all about?

If I am looking for a movie review I type the movie name, I dont type anything else first. Can you change that around? A slap in the kisser by Google might sting a bit but it does make you look at alternatives.

    :)
But this was not the problem before, so why should it be a problem now. I have this title bar up for 2 years now. Every post does have the title of the movie without other BS.

But is this permanent and what is the point working yourself up the Google ladder, only to be kicked off for no good reason...? I am sorry to be nagging, but I'm frustrated right now and it's late and can't get asleep. ;)

It happened to me a few days ago, now for the competitive keyword I'm targeting, my website disappeared from the SERPs. Funny thing was that I got PR updated for most of my internal pages from PR0 to PR4.

    Merrin...

I have had a site hold top positions in Google for five years now for the little niche it is in. It is possible but you have to play the game. The title on your home page is just ridiculous. What is that about?

I don't care what anyone says. SEO is not a magic art.

State in the title what your site (and individual pages within your site) is about. Carry through with a header.

Introduce your subject in a paragraph on the top of the page, summarise it in the footer. Make your links reflect the content of your site. (Which you do, very well). Both internally and externally.

Make sure every page points to home and to the top layer of your site.

Use file names appropriate to your topic (not everyone will agree on this but it works for me).

    I changed it. ;)

Now somebody told me that I should post my sitemap to Google? Is that true?

Very similar except most of my keywords have delisted or perhaps just been demoted to way, way down the gutter, so far down that I cannot find it. I still have all the pages indexed as normal. Before all the keywords dissepeared today, I actually saw some of the keywprds in slightly higher places on a few DC's. Could this be hint of a possible boost in the rankings when things get back to normal?

Does Google report on their activities. Is there a board, like Microsoft has? And were can you send some feedback like "hey guys, nice system your having, but you kindda forgot a few sites in the process".

One of our sites is 5 years old, a few backlinks but not many. Part of my adwords monthy spend also so it's been on the Google radar for years.
This site has been ranking ok for years and dipping up and down like the rest of us.

16th Jan = Site Gone From ALL DC's?

We have pretty much done nothing new with this site? I checked webmaster tools and it tells me the site is NOT in the index.

However we still have pagerank (toolbar) and it is still getting crawled (9th Jan according to cache data) and there is still a cache page I can see in Google webmaster tools.

Anyone care to comment? This has never happened to us before. Are we gone or should we just chill and wait a few days?

I am back. And listed higher then before !!!

So there is justice in this world. I hope it stays and that I don't have to come-back and complain that I lost everything again.

    so be patient...
