I'm looking for products to promote all the time, everytime I decided to try a different product I get banged for 10 bucks by godaddy for a domain. I thought about getting one domain and just making a bunch of sub domains for my landing pages that way I wont have to pay 10 bucks everytime I decided to promote something new. like product1.digitalreviewsorsomecrap.com product2.digitalreviewsorsomecrap.com ect ect How many of you tried this and do you noticed a drop in sales because of this or no?
Im just getting into this whole affiliate marketing thing, and was wondering the same thing myself. For those of us that are on tight budgets (Im a college student) throwing out a few hundred a month in domain names while your getting started is rather painful. Are .info's affective for landing pages?
I was also wondering this. I can't really afford buying all kinds of $10 domains. Is using .infos bad? Do you see less conversions with them?
Hi Everyone I have about 20 .info's and they are just as effective as .coms my best selling affiliate product is on a subdomain so there really isn't any difference. Hope this helps Pete
You do not need a dot com to make money in the affiliate business. Just make sure you have a good keywork. The ONLY reason for a dot com is if you would want to resale or promote to the public. Example: If you rattle off your domain to someone and they can not remember that well they will allway by default go to the dot com of what they think it is. If you just promoting a domain online? All you need is a good keywork domain and some good promoting skills. Google and other search engines do not look at the TLD until it come time to rank your page. The dot com wins that fight everytime. So, buy you ten dot info's and get to making some money befor you go broke buying 10 dollar domain for the same reason.
Nice insights! Thanks for this one. I figured this one out too. If you are just gonna do affiliate marketing using CB, you dont need a .com as long as you dont intend to sell the site. I know having a .info name does lowers the value of your site when selling it.
I like to have a broad and general domain name that works with every keyword, then have subdomains as they are a hell of a lot cheaper. Then simply create SEO friendly urls, purchasing a ton of domains is pointless and a waste of money.
yeah, it's not so much about how many domains you have, but how you promote them having said that, generally .com's may appear a bit more trustworthy to joe public - it's what they're familiar with
