many blogs on subdomain, does main domain name matter?

    hi, am creating multiple blogs on content that interest me. i was wondering does the main domain need any thing special? does the main domain need to be setup properly for SEO when its the subdomains that are providing the real content?

    I'm not absolutely positive on this, but I think Google now treats subdomains as pages on the main page. There was a problem with a guy creating millions of subdomains (since at the time Google recognized them as seperate sites) on a few domains, linking them together, and filling up the whole front page of the SERPs for TONS of terms.

    Correct me if I'm mistaken, though.

    the main domain...should a general name not specific keyword..i think ....CMIIW
